The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has achieved a historic milestone in Okaikwei Central, as its candidate, Hon. Baba Sadiq, emerged victorious in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
This victory marks the first time the NDC has won the seat since the establishment of the constituency.
Official results show that Hon. Baba Sadiq secured 21,303 votes, representing 52.92% of the total valid votes cast, defeating the incumbent candidate from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Patrick Boamah, who obtained 18,951 votes (47.08%).
In a statement, the Constituency Executive Committee of the NDC hailed the win as a landmark achievement and a transformative moment for the Constituency.
“A new dawn has emerged in OkaiKwei Central, and we urge all our party members to come out in their numbers to celebrate this sweet victory,” the statement said
The Okaikwei Central win is being hailed as a significant boost for the NDC, further solidifying its performance in the Greater Accra Region during the 2024 elections.
