The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former President John Dramani Mahama has extended a message of solidarity to Ghanaian workers, promising to collaborate with them towards shared growth and prosperity.
In a message to commemorate May Day, Mahama expressed confidence in Ghana’s ability to surmount its present challenges.
He urged workers to remain hopeful and emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in making significant progress.
Mahama also pointed to the upcoming December general elections as a critical chance for altering Ghana’s course.
“The forthcoming elections on December 7 offer us a pivotal opportunity to alter our current trajectory and set a new course. During my first tenure as President, I steered the affairs of this nation through similar challenging times.”
“We overcame a significant energy crisis, implemented a universal salary structure, spearheaded transformative infrastructural developments, and built a more resilient economy,” he said.
Mahama recalled his administration’s efforts to overcome significant challenges, including resolving an energy crisis, implementing a universal salary structure, and spearheading major infrastructural developments contributing to a more resilient economy.
He also touched on his 24-hour economy policy proposal, which aims to create sustainable and decent job opportunities for the Ghanaian people.
“Implementing a 24-hour economy is central to my vision for Ghana’s recovery,” Mahama stated. “This initiative is designed to generate sustainable, decent job opportunities and promote growth and prosperity for everyone.”
“Drawing from this experience, I am prepared to work with you again to commence the vital repair work our country needs after enduring such turbulence. We progressed before, and I am confident we can do so again.”
