Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has secured the number one position on the ballot paper for the party’s National Chairmanship election scheduled for October 3, 2026.
Mr Boadu emerged first during the balloting process conducted ahead of the NPP’s national executive elections.
Former Second Vice Chairman of the party, Sammy Crabbe, secured the second position, while former National Chairman Paul Afoko picked the third slot.
Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko will occupy the fourth position on the ballot paper.

The balloting marks another major step in preparations for the October 3 NPP national executive elections, which will determine the party’s new national leadership.
The National Chairmanship contest has attracted significant attention, with all four candidates expected to intensify their engagements with delegates ahead of the polls.
The candidates are seeking to convince delegates that they have what it takes to unite the party, strengthen its internal structures and position the NPP for future electoral contests.
Issues including party unity, grassroots mobilisation, internal cohesion and organisational strengthening are expected to feature prominently in the campaigns.
With the ballot positions now determined, the four contenders will enter the final phase of their campaigns with their respective positions clearly established.
John Boadu will appear first on the ballot, followed by Sammy Crabbe, Paul Afoko and Boakye Agyarko.
The October 3 election will provide NPP delegates with the opportunity to choose the National Chairman who will help steer the affairs of the party during its next phase of political activities and preparations for future elections.
