An Accra Circuit Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communicator and marketer Kweku Osei Korankye Asiedu, popularly known as KOKA, after he failed to appear before the court.
KOKA was expected to appear in court to answer charges of threat of death and publication of false news in connection with allegations involving staff of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
The court issued the bench warrant for KOKA’s arrest after he was absent when the case was called.

Chief Inspector Wisdom Alorwu, who is prosecuting the case, told the court that the accused had been duly notified to appear but failed to do so.
The prosecutor described KOKA’s failure to appear as disrespectful to the court.
After hearing the prosecution, the court issued the bench warrant and adjourned the case to August 25, 2026.
According to the prosecution, the complainants in the case are staff members of EOCO.
The prosecution said KOKA was invited for questioning on July 14, 2026, following the circulation of a video on social media in which he allegedly threatened the lives of EOCO officials.
The prosecution alleged that in a video recorded on May 29, 2026, KOKA made statements threatening the lives of EOCO staff.
The prosecution quoted him as saying:Â “We know the officers’ houses, we know where they stay, and we will kill you.”
The alleged statement has formed part of the evidence in the case in which KOKA is facing charges of threat of death.
The prosecution further accused KOKA of appearing in another video on July 13, 2026, in which he allegedly claimed that an order had come from the Presidency preventing anyone from taking food to Dennis Miracles Aboagye.
At the time, Miracles Aboagye was in the custody of EOCO assisting investigators with ongoing investigations.
According to the prosecution, the claim was false and was allegedly intended to incite a breach of the peace, mislead the public and undermine EOCO officials in the lawful performance of their duties.
The prosecution said the publication of the alleged false information had serious consequences for EOCO personnel.
The prosecution further told the court that following the publication of the video, the driver of EOCO’s Executive Director was allegedly pursued by about 20 unidentified men on motorbikes.
The men were suspected of intending to attack the driver, according to the prosecution.
The incident allegedly heightened fear among EOCO personnel as they continued to carry out their official duties.
The prosecution maintained that KOKA’s alleged actions created fear and anxiety among staff of the anti-graft agency.
KOKA was subsequently arrested as part of investigations into the alleged offences.
The prosecution told the court that during police investigations, the accused allegedly admitted the offences in his caution statement.
The case will now return to court on August 25, 2026, following the issuance of the bench warrant for KOKA’s arrest.
The latest development adds to growing public attention surrounding investigations involving EOCO and the circumstances surrounding the arrest and detention of individuals linked to ongoing financial crime investigations.
