Dennis Miracles Aboagye has declared that he is ‘unbroken’ and ‘more ready than ever’ after being released on bail by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO). He insisted that his four-day detention has strengthened rather than weakened his resolve.
The 2028 Campaign Director for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and aspiring New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Communications Director made the remarks in a statement issued on Wednesday, July 15, a day after he secured bail.
“I am out. I am unbroken. And I am more ready than ever. Thank you, patriots!” Miracles Aboagye wrote while expressing appreciation to supporters who stood by him during his detention.

Arrest followed campaign declaration
According to Miracles Aboagye, he was arrested just a day after announcing his intention to contest for the position of NPP National Communications Director.
He alleged that false narratives were circulated regarding the circumstances surrounding his arrest but expressed confidence that the truth would emerge.
“A false narrative was put out about my arrest, but Ghanaians are not fools, and neither are the good people of the New Patriotic Party. The facts and the truth will prevail,” he stated.
No discussion with EOCO
The former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD) also rejected reports suggesting that EOCO questioned him over an alleged GH¢55 million matter.
“For the records: There was no discussion of any GH¢55 million with me by EOCO. None!” he stressed.
However, EOCO has stated that its investigations relate to alleged financial and procurement irregularities involving about GH¢55 million during his tenure at IMCCoD.
The anti-graft agency arrested Miracles Aboagye alongside the Secretariat’s former accountant, Gerald Appiah, as part of ongoing investigations.
Gratitude to NPP supporters
Miracles Aboagye expressed gratitude to party faithful who demonstrated and publicly demanded his release, saying news of their solidarity reached him while in detention.
“To every party faithful who hit the streets, who raised their voices, who refused to be silent, I saw you. I heard you. From my detention, word of your protests reached me, and it kept my spirit standing tall,” he said.
He maintained that the experience had only strengthened his determination.
“If the intention was to break me, it has failed. If the intention was to scare me, it has failed spectacularly,” he declared.
Communications Officer bid
Reaffirming his ambition to become the New Patriotic Party’s National Communications Director, Miracles Aboagye said he remains committed to helping shape the party’s public messaging ahead of the 2028 general election.
He also thanked his legal team, the NPP leadership and supporters for their encouragement throughout the period of his detention.
“This journey is no longer mine alone. It is ours. We move. Stronger. Louder. Together,” he concluded.
EOCO investigation
Miracles Aboagye was arrested by EOCO at the Accra International Airport as part of investigations into alleged financial and procurement-related irregularities linked to his time as Executive Secretary of IMCCoD.
He has since been granted GH¢50 million bail with three sureties, two of whom must be justified, while investigations continue.
EOCO has not announced any formal charges against him, and the investigation remains ongoing.
