The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Women’s Caucus in Parliament has thrown its unwavering support behind Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, who has been nominated as the running mate for the 2024 presidential ticket alongside the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
The NDC Female MPs Caucus hails Professor Opoku Agyemang’s re-nomination as a significant milestone for gender inclusivity within Ghana’s political landscape, especially as the world celebrates International Women’s Day.
According to the Caucus, her exceptional contributions to public service, particularly during her tenure as the former Minister of Education and her distinguished academic career, have not gone unnoticed.
The Caucus emphasized Professor Opoku Agyemang’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of women, children, and marginalized groups in Ghana.

Addressing the media at a press briefing, the 2nd Deputy Whip, Hon. Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe, expressed gratitude to His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for this timely nomination.
She stated, “By nominating Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as the running mate for the great NDC, President Mahama has given female MPs and women in Ghana the best gift ahead of International Women’s Day.”
