Parliament, under the leadership of Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, will host the 2024 edition of the Speaker’s Seminal Lecture today Saturday, August 31.
A Parliament’s Public Affairs Subdivision statement announced that the event will be held at the Dr. Andani Andan Academic Board Chamber at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale, Northern Region.
This year’s lecture, themed “Working Together, Building Trust for a Free, Fair, Credible, and Peaceful Elections 2024: The Role of Stakeholders”, will feature distinguished speakers Professor Kwesi Aning, an expert in security, governance, and international relations, and Mr. Kofi Bentil, a legal practitioner and Vice President of Imani Africa.
The Speaker’s Seminal Lecture series provides a platform for national dialogue on pressing issues, fostering understanding and collaboration among various sectors.
The event will bring together key stakeholders, including Members of Parliament, government officials, political party representatives, civil society organizations, academia, the diplomatic community, and the media.
