The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) announced that Rock City Hotel, owned by Bryan Acheampong, offered the best proposal for acquiring a 60% stake in its hotels.
This statement followed a petition by North Tongu Member of Parliament, Okudzeto Ablakwa, who asked the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate the sale of six hotels: Labadi Beach Hotel, La Palm Royal Beach Resort, Elmina Beach Resort, Ridge Royal Hotel, Busua Beach Resort, and Trust Lodge Hotel to Bryan Acheampong.
In response, SSNIT stated that Rock City Hotel submitted the strongest technical and financial proposal based on the criteria set for the sale. As a result, SSNIT is negotiating with Rock City to sell a 60% stake in Labadi Beach Hotel, La Palm Royal Beach Resort, Ridge Royal Hotel, and Elmina Beach Resort.
SSNIT also noted that the bids for Busua Beach Resort and Trust Lodge were unsuccessful, and these hotels are no longer included in the sale process.
