President-elect John Dramani Mahama has emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among political divides, even as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prepares to govern with a clear majority in the forthcoming Parliament.
During a watch night service on December 31st at an Assemblies of God church in Tamale, Mr. Mahama stressed that governance is about uniting efforts to achieve national progress.
“Even though we have a large majority, people say you can use it to do this, you can use it to do that. No, that is not what it is about.”

“It is about working together to build the nation we want,” he said.
Acknowledging the support he received in the December 7th election, where he secured 56.55% of the vote, Mr. Mahama noted that leading Ghana to its full potential requires the collective effort of all Ghanaians.
“It will take all of us – NPP, NDC, New Force, Movement for Change, CPP, PNC, ACP, and everyone, even those who don’t belong to any party,” he stated.
Mr. Mahama urged citizens and political parties to join hands in building a better future for Ghana, reaffirming his commitment to inclusive governance.
