The government has issued a directive mandating the annulment of all appointments and recruitments made within Ghana’s Public Services after December 7, 2024.
The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, has instructed all Heads of Government Institutions to reverse these recruitments and submit a full report on actions taken by February 17, 2025.
The move comes in response to concerns regarding governance practices and adherence to principles of transparency, particularly those related to last-minute recruitments made towards the end of an administration’s term.
The directive emphasizes that such appointments do not align with established good governance standards, underlining the government’s commitment to transparency and proper procedures in public sector recruitment.
“This decision reinforces the government’s dedication to ensuring transparency and due process in all public sector appointments,” the Chief of Staff’s statement clarified.
