Government and Organised Labour finalized a deal on February 20, 2025, to hike the base pay for public sector employees, effective throughout 2025.

Employment Minister Dr. Rashid Pelpuo revealed that the new daily minimum wage will rise to GH₵19.97, reflecting a 10% salary hike for workers in the public sector.

This announcement follows continuous pressure from Organised Labour, which has been advocating for wage adjustments to align with the current economic climate.

The agreement is the second pay increase within a year, building on a substantial 23% raise granted in 2024 to help ease the financial strain on workers amid escalating living costs.
