A growing wave of New Patriotic Party (NPP) members are rallying behind Hon. Patrick Yaw Boamah, Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, seeing him as a symbol of hope for the party’s leadership renewal following its defeat in the 2024 elections.
Boamah earned widespread praise across social media after his candid appearance on GHOne TV, where he reflected on the party’s shortcomings and proposed a path forward as the NPP seeks to reorganize for the 2028 elections.
Party supporters lauded Boamah for embodying the centre-right values and ideals that have historically anchored the NPP.
His calls for a public apology to Ghanaians over the previous administration’s failings, and for a general amnesty to reintegrate suspended members into the Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition, resonated strongly with the grassroots.
Following his remarks, prominent figures, including former flagbearer aspirant Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, echoed his sentiments, urging the party to welcome back leaders like Paul Afoko and Alan Kyerematen to strengthen unity ahead of the next political cycle.

Supporters argue that Boamah’s calm demeanour, forward-looking ideas, and principled approach to national issues reflect the kind of leadership the NPP needs to reset and rebuild.
“Lots of positive vibes from Hon. Boamah. He exudes hope and represents the centre-right ideals that seem to have been missing both before and after our defeat,” one party member noted in a social media post.
While many emphasized that their support does not constitute an official endorsement, they pointed to Boamah’s style as a refreshing model for political engagement and party reorganization.
“The reforms we seek must begin with the integrity and sincerity of our public discourse. Hon. Patrick Boamah exemplifies this approach. His example is one the entire party should look to emulate,” another supporter stated.
Boamah’s admirers maintain that a renaissance within the NPP is both necessary and achievable—and that leadership figures like him offer the principled, thoughtful politics needed to restore the party’s credibility and reconnect with the Ghanaian people.
As momentum builds toward 2028, Hon. Patrick Boamah’s name continues to gain traction among party faithful eager for renewal and a fresh start.
