Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has officially put an end to speculation about his future, announcing after his country’s triumph in the Nations League yesterday that he will remain at Al-Nassr.
His current contract with the club expires on June 30, and there had been reports suggesting he might sign with one of the Brazilian clubs set to take part in the Club World Cup.

Last month, Ronaldo only fuelled the rumours with a social media post following Al-Nassr’s final match of the season, in which the five-time Ballon d’Or winner wrote: “This chapter is closed. The story? Still being written. Thank you all.”
Asked last night about what lies ahead, Ronaldo replied that he is staying at his current club: “My future? Basically, nothing is gonna change. Staying at Al-Nassr? Yes.”
The 40-year-old forward has so far scored 99 goals in 105 appearances for Al-Nassr. His goal last night in the final against Spain was his 138th for Portugal and the 938th of his career overall. The Nations League trophy is the 34th of his decorated career, with the most titles (16) won during his time at Real Madrid.
Ronaldo is expected to extend his contract until 2027. Under the new deal, he will receive €400 million over two years, along with roughly 5% ownership in the club.
