“I respectfully request an update on the reported interruption of the Online Consular Management System (OCMS) and its related services, effective 15 June 2026,” he wrote.
The Okaikwei Central MP also sought information on measures that have been put in place to ensure the continued delivery of services at Ghana’s diplomatic missions during the disruption.
“Specifically, I would appreciate confirmation of the current operational status of the system, the range of consular services affected, and any interim measures instituted to ensure the continued delivery of services at the Missions,” he stated.
Mr. Boamah further requested details on the administrative and technical arrangements guiding consular operations amid the reported interruption, particularly regarding visa processing and applicant enrolment.
According to him, the information is necessary to minimise inconvenience to visa applicants and other stakeholders who depend on Ghana’s consular services.
The lawmaker also asked the Foreign Affairs Minister to indicate the expected timeframe for the complete restoration of the system.
“An indication of the expected timeframe for the complete restoration of services would also be highly appreciated,” he added.
The Online Consular Management System is a critical digital platform used by Ghana’s diplomatic missions to process visa applications and provide other consular services to applicants across the world.
