A nation united: PRINPAG applauds Black Stars for 2026 World Cup feat

The Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) has congratulated the Black Stars on their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to the Association, the team’s effort is a moment of national pride that unites and inspires Ghanaians across all divides.

The Black Stars sealed their place at the global football tournament, which will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

In a statement on Monday, October 13, and signed by the Association’s Public Affairs and External Relations Officer, Emmanuel Opare Djan, PRINPAG lauded the team’s hard work, discipline, and determination, which culminated in their fifth World Cup qualification since 2006.

“This remarkable achievement reaffirms Ghana’s esteemed place in global football and presents yet another opportunity to showcase the nation’s talent, resilience, and unity on the world stage,” the statement read.

PRINPAG noted that the qualification is not just a sporting milestone but a moment that transcends the boundaries of football, rekindling national pride and hope among Ghanaians.

The Association urged Ghanaians to throw their full support behind the team as preparations begin for the tournament.

“We call on all Ghanaians to rally solidly behind the team, offering unwavering support and encouragement as the Black Stars prepare for the global tournament. The journey ahead requires collective belief in the team’s potential to make Ghana proud once again.”

Mr. Opare Djan reaffirmed PRINPAG’s commitment to advancing the growth of sports journalism in Ghana, recognizing it as a vital tool for national cohesion and youth development.

He pledged the Association’s efforts to maintain high journalistic standards and continue amplifying stories that uplift the Ghanaian spirit.

“Our dedication to ethical journalism and professional media practice remains unwavering. We will continue to protect the interests of our members while stressing stories that unite, inspire, and uplift the Ghanaian spirit,” he assured
