Alois K.K. Mohl, an aspiring candidate for the Nandom Constituency New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary primary, has formally requested an investigation into a series of alleged machinations aimed at tarnishing his reputation and obstructing his candidacy.
Mohl has specifically accused the Nandom Constituency Secretary, Mr. Martin Wuoyang, of orchestrating fraudulent activities with the intent of disqualifying him from the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.
The controversy revolves around a letter dated January 4, 2024, addressed to the General Secretary, which accused Mohl of forging signatures and thumbprints on his nomination forms.
Two Polling Station executives, Philip Naaka and Simon Nibedong Mwaakpaar, reportedly signed the letter under duress.
Upon discovering the letter, Mohl reached out to the executives, who claimed they were coerced by the Constituency Secretary to sign the document.
Mwaakpaar Simon later issued a disclaimer on January 9, 2024, stating that he never authored the letter but was forced to sign it against his will.
Furthermore, Mohl raised concerns about the unauthorized access to his nomination forms by the assigns of his opponent, suggesting a deliberate effort to undermine his candidacy.
These forms, he alleged, have been photocopied and misused to harass individuals who endorsed his candidacy.
It was revealed that the Nandom Constituency Secretary, following the submission of Mohl’s nomination forms, petitioned the NPP General Secretary, alleging forgery of signatures and thumbprints by Mohl. However, Mwaakpaar Simon’s disclaimer contradicts these claims.
Alois Mohl contends that these actions are part of a broader scheme to secure his disqualification from challenging the incumbent Interior Minister, Hon. Ambrose Dery, for the Nandom seat.
He has called for a thorough investigation into the alleged infiltration of his nomination forms at the national level.
Accusing the Regional vetting committee of bias, Mohl demands appropriate sanctions against both the Constituency Secretary and the Regional vetting committee.
He insists on a fair resolution to restore integrity within the party in the region, particularly in Nandom, and pledges to pursue legal avenues to redeem his tarnished image.
