A dramatic security operation unfolded at the residence of Assin South MP and Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, as heavily armed personnel from the National Security and the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) surrounded his home this afternoon in a bid to arrest him over the bombshell allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering.
According to reports, at least four pickup trucks loaded with officers in full riot gear were strategically deployed at all access points to the Assin South MP’s property, triggering panic among residents and onlookers in the usually quiet neighborhood.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as alarming and unsettling, with Rev. Fordjour and his family visibly distressed by the sudden and forceful security presence.
A source within the MP’s household said the lawmaker appeared utterly blindsided by the dramatic escalation.
The raid follows the high-stakes press briefing held by Rev. Fordjour on April 1, during which he publicly accused two aircraft—a private jet and an air ambulance—of possible involvement in illicit activities.
He pointed fingers specifically at Air MED flight L823 AM, claiming it mysteriously remained grounded at the Kotoka airport for five days without any patient being evacuated, raising serious red flags.
President John Dramani Mahama responded swiftly to the claims, ordering all national security bodies to collaborate with the MP to uncover the truth.
He reaffirmed Ghana’s strict zero-tolerance stance on narcotics and financial crimes, calling for immediate action to safeguard the country’s international reputation.
