Former Vice-President and 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has issued a passionate call for unity and renewal within the party as it sets its sights on reclaiming power in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking in the Volta Region on Thursday, May 8, as part of the NPP’s nationwide Thank You Tour, Dr. Bawumia urged party members to focus on rebuilding from the grassroots up, emphasizing that the actions taken today will shape the party’s future victory.
“We did not achieve the result we desired, but that is behind us now. What matters is how we rise from this and strengthen our party’s structures at every level,” he said.
Victory 2028
Dr. Bawumia outlined a clear path forward, calling for the formation of strong constituency caucuses, renewed volunteer recruitment, and revitalization of the party’s grassroots network.
“From regional executives down to polling station agents, everyone has a role to play in restoring confidence among Ghanaians,” he emphasized.
In Ho, he turned his attention to the Volta Region—a traditional opposition stronghold—declaring it a key battleground for future electoral gains.
Dr. Bawumia said, “This region is ripe for transformation. By engaging sincerely with local concerns and delivering on our promises, we will earn the trust of communities here.”
“Let us all rise and rebuild together, for victory in 2028 is not a dream but a mission. We have the talent, the ideas, and the resolve—now is the time to act,” he added.
