Newly appointed Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has pledged his full commitment to Ghana, describing his new role as a mission driven by passion, responsibility, and deep respect for the country’s football heritage.

In his first message after his appointment by the Ghana Football Association, the experienced tactician expressed gratitude for the opportunity and outlined his vision as Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“It is with a deep sense of gratitude, responsibility, and humility that I embrace this new chapter with Ghana. This is not just another job; it is a mission,” he stated.

He praised Ghana’s rich football tradition, noting the country’s reputation for talent and pride on the global stage.

“Ghana is a nation of talent, pride, and footballing soul. I arrive with respect for its history and belief in its future,” he added.

The Portuguese coach brings a wealth of experience to the role, having managed top clubs including Real Madrid and worked alongside legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

At the international level, he has managed teams such as Portugal, Iran, and Egypt, earning a reputation for tactical discipline and for rebuilding squads ahead of major tournaments.

Ghana faces a challenging task at the upcoming World Cup, having been drawn in a group alongside England national football team, Croatia national football team, and the Panama national football team.

With limited time before the tournament, Queiroz stressed the importance of unity, discipline, and ambition.

“Together, with unity, discipline, and ambition, we will work to honour the expectations of a great football nation,” he said.

His remarks signal a clear intent to galvanise both players and supporters as the Black Stars prepare for the global stage.

With expectations high, Queiroz’s appointment marks the start of a crucial chapter for Ghana—one where experience, structure, and belief will be tested against the world’s best.
