The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, and his wife, Lady Mrs Monica Wengam, have successfully concluded their 4th Apostolic Visit to the Ashanti East Region, reaffirming their commitment to spiritual renewal, church growth, and the welfare of ministers and their families.
The event, held at the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Kumasi, brought together serving pastors and their spouses, retired ministers and their wives, as well as pastors’ widows for a day of prayer, fellowship, spiritual impartation and leadership training.

Welcoming the General Superintendent and his wife, the Ashanti East Regional Superintendent, Rev. Emmanuel Gyasi, praised Rev. Wengam’s leadership and highlighted several transformational initiatives introduced under his administration.

According to him, policies focused on church rebranding, spiritual revival, and aggressive church planting have significantly strengthened Assemblies of God, Ghana, and contributed to the church’s continued growth nationwide.
A major highlight of the 4th Apostolic Visit was an intensive three-and-a-half-hour prayer session led by Rev. Wengam that prayed for Assemblies of God, the peace and development of Ghana, the upcoming World Assemblies of God Fellowship Congress, and the 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting.

Rev. Wengam encouraged pastors to emulate the unwavering faith and commitment of the early church fathers by remaining steadfast in ministry, prioritising church planting and deepening their spiritual discipline.
The National President of the Ministers’ Wives Association, Lady Mrs Monica Wengam, commended pastors’ wives for their dedication to the association and urged them to continue supporting their husbands in ministry.
As part of the visit, she presented gifts to pastors, cloths to pastors’ wives, cash and assorted items to retired ministers, their spouses and pastors’ widows.

Lady Monica Wengam explained that the welfare initiative is personally funded by her and Rev. Wengam as a way of supporting ministers and their families during difficult times.
“This is our modest way of caring for God’s people,” she said.
In appreciation of their leadership and generosity, the Ashanti East Regional Council presented a special gift to Rev. Stephen Wengam and Lady Monica Wengam.
The Council praised the couple for their visionary leadership, unwavering commitment, and continued investment in the growth of Assemblies of God, Ghana.

Another memorable moment during the 4th Apostolic Visit was the renewal of wedding vows by married pastors and their spouses.
Rev. Wengam led the ceremony and encouraged Christian couples to demonstrate strong, God-centred marriages that would serve as examples to their congregations and the wider community.
The programme concluded with the administration of Holy Communion, reinforcing the event’s focus on spiritual renewal, unity and commitment to God’s work.
