Member of Parliament Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga, has assured the public that the ruling New Democratic Congress’s (NDC) significant parliamentary majority will be wielded responsibly and inclusively.
Speaking during his acceptance speech on Thursday, January 23, 2025, the newly appointed Majority Leader in Parliament stressed the importance of consensus-building and unity within Parliament.
He echoed President John Dramani Mahama’s assurance that the ruling majority’s power would not be misused.
“As President John Dramani Mahama has said, these overwhelming numbers will not be abused,” Mr. Ayariga affirmed.
Although the NDC holds an overwhelming majority, Mr. Ayariga emphasized the party’s commitment to inclusivity, consensus-building, and upholding the principles of probity and accountability in fulfilling the vision of the nation’s founding fathers.
He also pledged to advance democracy, national unity, and equitable development across Ghana.
Acknowledging the challenges ahead, Mr. Ayariga expressed confidence that Parliament would overcome obstacles through constructive dialogue and mutual respect.
“The road ahead will not be without challenges, but I am confident that together, through constructive dialogue and mutual respect, we can overcome any obstacles and deliver on our collective vision,” he stressed
