Ghana Link Network Services Ltd has assured stakeholders that no data was lost during the scheduled upgrade of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS) on October 23, 2024.

The brief system interruption, which temporarily affected user access, was a necessary part of a planned optimization focused on significantly enhancing performance, data security, and storage efficiency.

Officials confirmed in a statement that all documents and historical records from 2020 to 2024 are completely intact.

“We guarantee that all documents and records within the ICUMS system are secure and fully retrievable. The upgrade was a strategic initiative to improve our storage infrastructure and ensure the ongoing reliability of our services,” the statement clearly emphasized.

The brief interruption led to some users experiencing temporary access issues. However, Ghana Link emphasized that the event was not a system failure or a deliberate shutdown, but a necessary step towards boosting system efficiency.

The company added that the upgrade was conducted with the highest regard for data protection standards and in full compliance with Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

In response to concerns raised by The Transport Forum Ghana LBG, Ghana Link reiterated its commitment to supporting freight forwarders, businesses, and other stakeholders within the shipping, logistics, and transport sectors.

The statement urged any user experiencing difficulties retrieving their files to contact ICUMS Support Team immediately for assistance through the contact numbers (0302750140/0596921182) and the email address (info@icums.gov.gh).
