Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has released a strong 23-man squad for the much-anticipated Unity Cup tournament in London, United Kingdom. The Ghana national team is set to battle West African rivals Nigeria at the GTech Community Stadium in West London on Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
The squad features a blend of youth, experience, and notable comebacks. Four local-based players—Benjamin Asare (Hearts of Oak), Razak Simpson (Nations FC), Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC), and Kwame Opoku (Asante Kotoko)—have been rewarded for their outstanding performances in the domestic league.

Italian-based striker Felix Afena-Gyan makes a sensational return to the national team after a two-year absence, while midfield enforcer Abdul Samed Salis returns following a successful recovery from injury.
Making his debut is former West Ham United shot-stopper Joseph Tetteh Anang, currently playing for St Patrick’s Athletic in Ireland.
Young talents from the Black Satellites, including Abdul Aziz Issah and Aaron Essel, have also been included in the squad, alongside promising overseas-based players such as Caleb Yirenkyi of FC Nordsjaelland and Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini of Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium.
The squad will assemble in London to begin preparations for the Unity Cup, which features Ghana, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica. The tournament’s final will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, with the Black Stars eyeing a dominant run to the trophy.
