New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has declared his readiness to sacrifice his personal fortune and standing to ensure the party reclaims power in the 2028 general elections.
The aspiring National Chairman made the dramatic pledge during an appearance on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, arguing that the party needs a fighter, not an orator, to heal from its 2024 defeat.
In his characteristic blunt style, Wontumi dismissed the need for polished rhetoric in leadership, insisting that results matter more than eloquence.

“My goal as National Chairman is to help the NPP recapture power, not to speak plenty of English,” he stated.
He pointed to his three consecutive terms as Ashanti Regional Chairman and two decades of service as proof of his capability.
“My work speaks for itself. I may not have a certificate, but my achievements are there for all to see. Rising from Constituency Chairman to Regional Chairman is no mean feat.”
The outspoken politician admitted that the controversies and challenges of his career have only hardened his resolve.
“Now you have a new Wontumi. The problems and the challenges have built me and set me to be ready to lead the NPP to victory.”
Ending with a vow that will likely dominate party discussions, he said: “I don’t mind losing everything for the NPP to win Election 2028.”
